Porcupine figurine

Easily recognizable by its back bristling with long quills, the porcupine is a nocturnal rodent that lives in the forests, savannas, and rocky regions of Africa, Asia, and Europe. Despite its impressive appearance, it is generally peaceful and prefers to flee rather than confront its predators.

Its quills, actually very hard and hollow hairs, are its main defense weapon. Surprisingly, when feeling threatened, the porcupine raises its mantle of quills, makes rattling noises, and can even launch a few quills to deter its attackers. As a herbivore, it feeds on roots, fruits, and bark, thus contributing to the balance of its ecosystem.

This Papo figurine realistically reproduces the porcupine: detailed quills, stocky silhouette, and vigilant posture. An ideal model to enrich a collection of wild animals, invent astonishing stories, or educate children about the incredible defense strategies of the animal world.
