Coir fibers are attached to the base with glue. As a result, not all fibers are held equally, and it is completely normal for some fibers to come loose at the beginning of use.

Each doormat is made from the husks of approximately 25 coconuts. The husks are first “cured” in coastal lagoons where they are harvested, then manually beaten to extract the fiber. The doormats are then painted and colored by hand, one by one, using various stencils. A traditional outdoor sun-drying technique is then used to fix the paint to the surface of the doormat. Finally, a non-slip backing is added to keep the doormat firmly in place and reduce the risk of slipping.
