Each doormat is made from the husk of about 25 coconuts. First, the husks are "seasoned" in coastal lagoons where they are collected and then hand-beaten to extract the fiber. The doormats are painted and colored by hand one by one using different stencils. Afterwards, a traditional outdoor sun-drying technique is used to fix the paint on the doormat's surface. Finally, the non-slip base is added, which keeps the doormat firmly in place and reduces the risk of slipping.
