Each doormat is made from the husk of about 25 coconuts. First, the husks are "seasoned" in coastal lagoons where they are collected and then beaten by hand to extract the fiber. Finally, the non-slip backing is added which keeps the doormat firmly in place and reduces the risk of slipping.
