Standing at 4.3 inches tall, arms spread wide as flames roll down its haggard body and shoot out of one eye without an eyepatch, pointy metallic ears sprout from their red heads while sharp gray teeth grind on their muzzle. With a long, curved hook on one hand and sharp claws on the other, sharp black wings emerge from his back while metallic legs protrude from tattered brown shorts. The exterior of Grimm Foxy's packaging sees him peeking around the corner of a lit wooden maze, while the interior features a dark green and black shiny square design and the 'Security Breach' logo. The protective sleeve is a dark metallic blue with gray pipes and colored wires running through it and displays the silhouette of Grimm Foxy through the large clear window on the front. This collectible comes in a protective embossed matte outer sleeve and a custom-sized plastic protector for maximum protection during shipping.

Shortly after the game's release in 2014, it gained cult status and quickly evolved into a complex fictional universe with lore and various spinoffs.
