Being the son of Gol D. Roger, the former Pirate King, Ace has a talent for the family business. After eating the Mera Mera no Mi Devil Fruit, Ace makes a welcome addition to any pirate crew at home.

Portgas D. Ace (born Gol D. Ace ), known as "Fiery Fist Ace" (??????- Hiken no Esu ), is the adoptive and half-brother of Monkey D. Luffy and Sabo. He is the only son of the late Pirate King Gol D. Roger and his wife Portgas D. Rouge.

He was adopted by Monkey D. Garp at birth at the request of Gol D. Roger and raised by the Dadan family just like Luffy.

He was the commander of the Whitebeard Pirates' second fleet and is the former captain of the Spade Pirates who was integrated into the first crew.

The Impel Down Arc and the Marineford Arc follow Luffy's journey as he comes to save Ace from his execution ordered by the World Government.

During these events, Ace is killed by Admiral Akainu while trying to protect Luffy.
