Yu-Gi-Oh! tells the story of Yugi Mutou, a shy young boy who loves all kinds of games, but is often bullied. One day, he solves an ancient puzzle known as the Millennium Puzzle. His body then becomes the host of a mysterious spirit with the personality of a gambler. From that moment on, whenever Yugi or one of his friends is threatened by those with dark hearts, this other Yugi appears and challenges them to dangerous shadow games, which reveal the true nature of one's heart, with the losers of these contests often being subjected to a dark punishment called a penalty game. Whether it's cards, dice or board games, he accepts challenges from anyone, anywhere.
